In response to the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu Province on September 30, 2025, the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) Committee led by Hon. Jules Jun Y. Baguio, together with the Infrastructure Committee chaired by Hon. Martin Macan Jr. and the Solid Waste Management Committee led by Hon. Jeffrey Tajanlangit, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Ritchell S. Basillote, conducted a thorough inspection of key buildings and infrastructure in Barangay Poblacion.
The team checked the following locations:
- San Roque Parish
- Cordova Catholic Cooperative School (CCCS)
- Cordova Town Market
- Cordova Sports Complex
- Cordova Central School
During the inspection, classrooms, hallways, and surrounding facilities were carefully checked for cracks on walls, potential foundation damage, and any hazards that could pose risks to students, parishioners, vendors, and the general public.
On the night of the earthquake, the BDRRM Chairman also conducted roving operations with the Barangay Peace and Safety Officers to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of the community.
